Qootia’s Snowball Fight gets Awarded

26/3/2010

We just got some wonderful news. Apparently our fun Snowball Fight game, developed with Renderspace for SiOL got awarded at the Slovene Advertising Festival (SOF).

The campaign ran in two major Slovene cities, during the 2010 Olympic games, combining the reach and exposure of digital out of home with Qootia’s interactivity and intimate follow-up communication potential via SMS.

Congrats to the combined Qootia and Renderspace team that made this possible:

Project Manager: Tomaž Štolfa
Creative Director: Matevž Klanjšek
Art Director: Žiga Aljaž
Game frontend implementation: Nil Gradišnik, Anže Cesar
Game backend implementation: Aleš Černe

And finally thanks to the great people at SiOL for believing in such a forward looking campaign. We showed it makes sense from the business, marketing and most importantly user’s perspective.

Olympic Snowball Fight

2/3/2010

During the Olympic games, from 13th of February until the 3rd of March, Qootia was present in Slovenia’s Olympic Village in Ljubljana – a fan space in the middle of the city with a big stage and a huge screen as its centerpiece.

In co-operation with Renderspace, we enhanced the Snowball Fight game we prepared for SiOL, Slovenia’s largest ISP provider and part of Telekom Slovenije group.

The interaction model was as simple as always – viewers called a seven digit number and were able to started interacting immediately, by pressing keys on their keypad. The same voice call was used as an opt-in mechanism to SiOL’s free mobile news club, through which SiOL notifies its members of special promotions  and offers. Opt-out was offered immediately after the interaction was completed, but opt-out rates were very low.

Viewer engagement levels were great as we managed to fill out more than 95% of available game slots and generate engagements with a average of over 1 minute and 30 seconds, while game play time was limited to 1 minute and 15 seconds.
