About
What is Qootia?
Qootia is a magic box which lets people interact with big displays using their mobile phone. There is no need to download or install anything on the device – it just works. Interaction is enabled by performing a simple voice call to a short number (i.e.: 100 100).
What can I do with it?
Qootia enables callers to play games, select displayed content, and have hot or not contests, stare at a black screen and much more.
How it Works?
Qootia is composed from three parts (Mr. Telco server, Mr. Intelligence server and Mr. Presentation server), each one serving its special purpose.
The Mr. Telco server is as a link between standard plain telephony (fixed or mobile) and the world of brand new shiny internet stuff. Mr. Telco translates the telecommunication language into something Mr. Intelligence can use to understand what the callers are doing on their mobile devices. Mr. Intelligence processes the information and shouts commands to Mr. Presentation, who pushes the right content to the right display. Mr. Presentation is the one that is responsible for what the users see.
Confused? Maybe a look here will help.
Can I set up my own Qootia?
Yes, just not yet. If you are eager to try new, mind blowing experience drop us a note at info@qootia.com and we will see what we can do.
How do I setup my own Qootia?
Setting up an instance of Qootia is uber-simple – just point the web browser to your Qootia address. A Qootia address is provided to you after the registration process.
Do I need any hardware?
You will need one or more fairly normal PCs or Mac computers, a Web browser (Firefox does the best job), some electricity and one or more displays (it would be hard to display something without those).
How can I develop my own content for Qootia?
Qootia content should be based on standard Web technologies. If you want to add specific content control, please use our API. The documentation is available will be available here.
