Meeting Tomi

We were present at HP Communications World in Hamburg and we met one of the legends of the mobile industry: Tomi Ahonen. Tomi wrote several books (one better than the other) and some of his concepts are an inspiration for the Qootia team. We had a great discussion about our product and future perspectives. Tomi was positively impressed by the innovation done in Slovenia in general (MarandLab, 3fs, Zemanta…) and he took the time to write a blog post about his impressions of Qootia. Make sure you read it.
Last year we won the innovation award at the HP Comm World in Vienna – this year we showed our progress as we grew from a concept to several implementations. We will keep you updated as we go forward, since 2010 looks to be a great year for applying our ideas on the market. We can’t wait!
p.s.: we wish you all a very merry Christmas and a beautiful 2010

We have just been informed that we have not been shortlisted for Seedcamp. Well, we did our best and we would like to thank all of you who helped us during the preparation of the application – you know who you are.
During the application process we learned a lot – rest assured that we will use all the feedback we received wisely.
Congratulations to all the teams that have been shortlisted.
Life goes on and tomorrow is another day. Expect to hear more from us soon.

Hot, Hot Summer

We have been busy this summer and we have some announcements to make.
Let’s start with the new website and refreshed Qootia look. We spent quite some time planning and reworking the site, so it would be ready to show off what our platform is really able to do. We will be adding a ton of demos and exciting trouts in the following weeks so stay tuned.
Secondly, we decided that our coffee breaks, our brainstorming sessions and our late night coding deserve a place in eternity. That is why we decided that we will be tweeting actively – follow us on Twitter!
Thirdly, we are very excited to announce that we have applied for Seedcamp.
Seedcamp is a programme created to jumpstart the entrepreneurial community in Europe by connecting next generation developers and entrepreneurs with over 400 mentors from a top-tier network of company builders; including seed investors, serial entrepreneurs, product experts, HR and PR specialists, marketers, lawyers, recruiters, journalists and venture capitalists.

The Seedcamp application form is something every start-up should fill up. It is full of really smart questions, that challenge every aspect of your business idea. We did the best we could to answer the questions and we already got some great (does not always equal positive) feedback from our pre-Seedcamp mentors pool.
And finally – we are still working on the platform. We prepared a couple of sneak peak demos, so you can check out some of Qootia’s capabilities. We will be extending the demo section in the near future.
